The middle age people in Ipoh have a habit of smoking as a way of relaxing and releasing stress. It had been a 'trend' for them to smoke whenever they are free; especially in the coffee shop, it's even more common.
People working in the markets, often involved in the trade & selling of fish, vegetables, various kind of meats, etc. These people normally belongs to the low income category and their monthly sometimes cannot even support the family expenses.
There are also people who repair spectacles to earn a life. They are considered as the normal income people; and are capable of giving their family a normal life.
Some of the old age people are rather independent and believe that they havethe ability to live on their own; thus chooses to plant their own vegetables or even fruits and would then pick some to sell it beside the road to earn for a living.
Some foreigners also bring in merchandises from their country
(e.g. Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia) and set a stall beside the road to sell
these merchandises in a very cheap price.
Coffee shops are rather common in Ipoh and can be found
almost in every streets; hence, providing working opportunity for
people to work at these coffee shops
