Ipoh's old and traditionally preserved shop houses which still have their wooden windows and grilled bars installed. Though some grills may have been renewed for safety purposes.
Ipoh Railway Station is known to be the first main transportation terminal for Ipoh. Build with the iconic Moorish architecture, this building was designed by a government architect Arthur Benison Hubback. The building was first constructed and opened in 1935.
Ipoh's City Hall, built in 1917 is one of the Heritage which cannot be missed while visiting Ipoh. It is still the most important landmark of Ipoh since the colonial era of Malaysia. The building was also designed by the government architect, A.B Hubback, who also designed the Railway Station. This heritage building is located in Jalan Dato Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab or known as the Club Road.
The old traditional Ipoh house have been renovated and painted in the inside. However leaving the traditional paints on the outside brings back memories to those who lived there during their teenage times. Old windows with traditional wooden slats designs can still be seen throughout most of the shop houses there..
The abandoned corner shop which was designed by the British looks similar to the traditional Malacca houses. This corner shop contains arches, columns, wooden slat windows, tiled roof and carvings on the walls.
