Culture & Activities

Food courts were seen in many places of Ipoh. We guessed that the people of Ipoh love to hang out in food courts. The food courts are basically the same as the food courts in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.

The parking tickets however is a big difference with the ones that we had in Kuala Lumpur. We had our punishment on the first night when we didn't buy any tickets for our parking. We ended up getting a parking fine when we woke up the other day. This parking ticket can be obtained from shops that have the ticket sign board hanging infront of their shop.

We noticed that many people in Ipoh are still on to rattans which is used to make chairs, hats and other equipments. This shop is one of the oldest rattan shops which people order their rattan products.
The traditional Kopitiam is a place where the people hang out for lunch and free time. This is a place where old folks hang out to play chinese chess and have their chit chats. Short to say, life in a Kopitiam is the culture of the people in Ipoh,

The people of Ipoh are also fond in queuing up to buy food. The Tau Fu Fa shop is an example. We witnessed many people queuing up just to buy the food. They seemed to have the patience to wait for what they love to eat.

The Hot Spring is another place where the people of  Ipoh love to hangout after their work and during the holidays. This hot spring is a man made hot spring which is actually a swimming pool. The heat of the swimming pool comes directly from the heater in the pool.
