Ipoh's Char Siew or known as Fork Roasted Meat in English is famous throughout the town. This food is found in an old shop name Tian Chun which is located in Old Town. Many of the towns people meet there early in the morning to have their breakfast and meetings. This dish is basically roasted and dipped in a sweet sauce which is called Char Siew sauce.
This is another dish which is cooked in the same stall of the shop. This noodle might look like the normal Wantan Mee but it is much more softer and tastier compared to a normal Wantan noodle shop. This noodle is basically served with side dishes like the roasted meat and other dishes (sliced chicken meat, minced meat, Satay and many more).
This dish is called the *Kai Si Hor Fun or known as Sliced Chicken Meat with Kuey Tiao Soup. Served with sliced spring onions and peppers as flavoring and chicken based soup. The combination of these ingredients will make you have an unforgettable meal.
This is the utmost famous Tofu Pudding or known as Tau Fu Fa in Cantonese in Old Town. It took us almost an hour to wait for the queue before we could buy them. This is currently the best dessert that we have ever tasted since we came to Ipoh. It wasn't only tasty but smooth as we placed it into our mouth.
The famous Ipoh Tauge Chicken Rice was the most unforgettable main dish that we ate. This dish is served with soy sauce as its base and Hor Fun or Kuey Tiao soup. The reason why Hor Fun was served instead of rice was because Hor Fun taste much better when mixed with the Tauge. This combination is another successful combination which brought its popularity way up high in Ipoh.
The tastiest and freshly baked biscuits and delicacies are sold in a traditional shop, Sin Eng Heong is the best in town. Delicacies is another food attraction which attracted many tourist throughout the country and foreign tourists. Sin Eng Heong is famous for its Kaya Puff which is still traditionally hand made by the owner of the shop My Ng. Sin Eng Heong has been opened for half a century and is still having many customers through out the world.
